£56k earmarked to help UK games firms show their wares

Tiga secures funding for GDC09 attendees

Tiga has secured £56,000 of funding from UK Trade and Industry to help games businesses attend the Game Developers Conference 2009.

The ‘substantial’ financial assistance is available for up to 40 game developers, technology and middleware providers who wish to attend the event, which takes place from March 23rd to 27th in San Francisco.

“One of the advantages of sterling’s dramatic devaluation against the American dollar over the last year is that it makes UK games developers extremely competitive in the USA," said Tiga CEO Richard Wilson. "We look forward to helping UK games developers make the most of this opportunity.”
