UKIE launches Scottish office

UKIE is holding its first Scottish office event at Abertay University today.

It takes place at the Hannah Maclure Centre in Dundee today, but it has already sold out.

The event will focus on the funding opportunities available to interactive entertainment business, with speakers discussing venture capital, angel, prototype and crowd-funding opportunities, plus the newly announced tax breaks.

UKIE’s new Scottish base will also lead on the delivery of the Edinburgh Interactive Festival.

The Scottish video games industry is highly skilled and leads the way in producing innovative digital content," said UKIE CEO Dr Jo Twist.

"UKIE is therefore delighted to be further supporting interactive entertainment businesses in Scotland through the launch of our Scottish office.

We know that access to finance can be a barrier to growth for many Scottish games businesses and are delighted that our first UKIE Scotland Office event will give expert advice on the range of funding opportunities that are available for all interactive entertainment businesses – large or small.”
