Microsoft confirms 250GB HDD

A standalone 250GB HDD for the Xbox 360 has been confirmed by Microsoft, despite the publisher previously saying the unit will only be available in console bundles.

It will have an RRP of 79.99 when it goes on sale in the UK on April 16th. Microsoft confirmed the details after MCV brought an Amazon listing to its attention.

A spokesperson for Microsoft said: The 250GB hard drive offers the player more space to store game content and full titles with games on demand.

They’ll also have more freedom to download the latest demos, Xbox Live arcade games, TV shows, movies, music and more straight to their Xbox 360 console.”

Microsoft also posted an advert on the US Xbox 360 dashboard showcasing a single 250GB HDD.

The HDD is already available in Japan and is confirmed for arrival in the US. Microsoft previously told MCV a standalone 250GB HDD wouldn’t go on sale in the UK.
