Minecraft also heading to PS3 and Vita

Looks like Microsoft’s exclusivity over the indie phenomenon is well and truly over with Minecraft heading to two more PlayStation platforms.

During Sony’s Gamescom press conference earlier this week, the platform holder announced Minecraft would be a launch title on PlayStation 4.

And PlayStation representative Adam Boyes has since confirmed PS3 and Vita owners will also be able to pick up the hit construction sandbox game.

"Minecraft is coming to PS3, PS4 & PS Vita to be clear," he tweeted. "Everybody’s gettin’ some Minecraft action."

No release date for the PS3 and Vita versions has been given.

Minecraft started life on PC, but has been a runaway success on Xbox 360 too.

It has dominated the Xbox Live Arcade charts for more than a year, and the recent retail release even reached No.1 in the UK All Formats Chart.
