Minecraft surpasses 20m units sold on PC

Minecraft has sold more than 20m copies on Windows and Mac platforms, developer Mojang has announced.

The PC edition of the game reached 15m sales last April and 10m sales in April 2013 – meaning the game has barely fallen off its torrid pace years after its release.

20 million copies of Minecraft PC sold. Thst is crazy,” Mojang’s Daniel Kaplan said on Twitter. Thanks everyone for supporting us and thanks for stickning [sic] with us for so long!”

The Microsoft-owned studio revealed earlier this week that it will be shutting down its digital card game Scrolls, with plans to close servers in July 2016.
