Angry Birds Space coming to Windows Phone

Despite previous reports stating the contrary, a Windows Phone 7 version of Angry Birds Space is in fact in the works according to Rovio CEO Mikael Hed.

"We are working towards getting Angry Birds Space to WP7," Hed told Reuters; putting to rest the earlier media reports that the games firm was to omit the device from the game’s platforms.

"We are working closely together with Nokia to bring our games to their platforms," Hed said. "Our mutual goal is to bring the best possible experience to our fans, including all fans using Windows Phone devices.”

Hed stated that a release date for Angry Birds Space on WP7 has yet to be determined.

The Finnish group behind the world’s most downloaded mobile title has been valued at up to $9b billion, with their latest effort already exceeding 700m downloads.
