Apple and Samsung overtake Nokia in global mobile web usage

Web analytics company StatCounter reports that Apple is now the leading mobile OEM for global web usage, bagging a 25.9 per cent share in January 2013.

The iPhone maker steals the crown from former top spot holder Nokia, which falls to third place with 22.2 per cent, as Samung rubbed salt in the wounds by snatching the second spot with 22.7 per cent.

On a year-on-year basis, however, Apple’s share fell from 28.7 per cent, while Samsung rose from 14.8 per cent, and Nokia fell from 37.7 per cent.
