Apple confirms September event, iPhone 5S and 5C reveals rumoured

Apple has sent out invitations for an event next week rumored to feature the debut of the iPhone 5S, as well as the iPhone 5C.

The Verge reports on the official invite from the hardware maker, which reveals a press event taking place on September 10th at Apple’s campus in Cupertino, California.

The invite specifically includes the line "This should brighten everyone’s day," and follows rumours of the iPhone 5C—which allegedly stands for "color."

The new multi-hued line will apparently represent a lower-cost alternative to the iPhone 5, with a plastic casing instead of the standard aluminum shell.

Apple is also expected to announce the long-rumoured iPhone 5S, with upgrades expected to include improvements to the current iPhone 5’s CPU and camera, along with a fingerprint scanner.
