Apple launches game website

A new section of the Apple website dedicated to video games has gone live.

The hub features a web store where users can buy Mac games including StarCraft II, Modern Warfare and The Sims 3.

Visitors can also download demons and updates, view the latest trailers and read a selection of guides about online gaming, cheat codes and peripherals.

Apple has launched both UK and US versions of its games area without much fanfare, though the latter features more content.

The hub boasts an editorial section with features and information about a selection of past and upcoming titles. Apple also lists its pick of new iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad games on the site.

Earlier this month Apple launched Game Center – an Xbox Live-rivalling service which allows iPhone users to play games against others, unlock achievement and compare high scores on leader boards.
