Bug delays rollout of Apple’s WatchOS 2

Apple’s WatchOS 2 was supposed to be out yesterday. But as owners will likely have noticed, that isn’t the case.

The iPhone and iPad creator has delayed the rollout of the new OS thanks to a bug that is taking longer to iron out than previously thought.

We have discovered a bug in development of WatchOS 2 that is taking a bit longer to fix than we expected,” Apple told TechCrunch. We will not release WatchOS 2 today but will shortly.”

The new Apple Watch operating system was supposed to arrive alongside iPhone and iPad’s iOS 9 which did, at least, thankfully abide to previous schedules.

WatchOS 2 adds a number of new features to early adopters of Apple’s wrist-based device, as well as giving developers more direct access to many of its features.
