Supercell’s three games ranked in top ten all-time highest revenue generators

Clash of Clans the highest grossing App Store game ever

Clash of Clans is the highest grossing game on the App Store ever, according to a new report.

Mobile data firm App Annie has released new research detailing the most downloaded and top grossing titles on the iOS App Store between July 2010 and July 2015.

Clash of Clans tops all-time worldwide revenue list. Supercell’s other two games, Hay Day and Boom Beach, are also in the top ten. The Finnish studio is the only company to have more than one game in the all-time top grossing chart.

King’s Candy Crush Saga takes second spot, while GungHo’s Puzzle & Dragons is in third place despite most of its revenues coming solely from Japan. Another Japanese title, Monster Strike, is the fifth highest grossing game.

As well as bringing in the most revenue, Candy Crush Saga and Clash of Clans are the only titles in the top grossing chart to feature in the top ten most downloaded games.

The other most downloaded games of all time include Fruit Ninja, Angry Birds, Angry Birds Rio, Temple Run, Temple Run 2, Subway Surfers, Despicable Me and Words With Friends.

App Annie said despite the release of Candy Crush Soda Saga, the original Candy Crush Saga still attracts millions of downloads every month.

And while Angry Birds and Temple Run both feature twice in the top ten most downloaded games, in each case the original outranks the sequel.
