Gameloft’s Asphalt Overdrive takes a different approach to smartphone racing

Asphalt Overdrive is now available on iOS and Android, offering a different take on racing to previous entries in Gameloft’s racing series.

Instead of using an on-screen steering wheel or tilt controls, Overdrive instead sees players swiping the screen to move their vehicle between lanes.

It also has a new theme, being set in the ‘80s. So yes, there’s lots of neon.

As is the way with the series, bonus points are awarded for chaos and stunts and there are a host of licensed cars – 30, to be precise, including the iconic DeLorean and the Lamborghini Countach.
