Developer all but confirms expected GDC announcement

Hints suggest Steam for Mac is incoming

Valve is expected to announce it will be adding Mac support for games on its digital distribution service Steam.

The developer has released a range of teaser images featuring Valve Properties such as Half-Life, Portal and Team Fortress mimicking familiar Apple advertising campaigns, according to MacNN.

These were accompanied with a press release from the firm’s vice president of marketing Doug Lombardi, claiming the images were released “in anticipation of an upcoming announcement from Valve.”

Rumours that Steam would be expanded to offer Mac support when users, reported by Kotaku, claimed they had discovered Mac OS X-compatible code and images in the service’s latest update.
