Real-life scale city also available to view in Covent Garden this weekend

Interactive documentary reveals how Lumino City was made

Lumino City developer State of Play has released a behind-the-scenes look at how the iOS hit was created.

The Making of Lumino City is available for free from the App Store, and documents the design and production of the game’s environments.

The title’s unique backdrops were initially made out of real-life materials such as cardboard, string, lights and motors, before being translated into the virtual world.

Users of the app can take a look at each scene in detail, experiencing the techniques utilised to bring the game to life. For example, the robot camera arm was controlled by a modified game controller.

The scale model city made by State of Play can also be seen in person this Friday, December 4th, and Saturday, December 5th, in Apple’s Covent Garden store.
