iOS and Android ‘have released more than 1m apps’

According to app-tracking startup Appsfire, more than one million apps have now been released across iOS and Android – 52% on the former and 48% on the latter.

CEO Ouriel Ohayon points out in his blog post that only 80% of those are still active, so there aren’t actually one million available on the stores right now – that’s the next milestone.

Another caveat is that apps available on both platforms will have been counted twice in this total.
