Jurassic World: The Game stomps onto iOS

Remember when every big summer movie would get an accompanying triple-A action console game? In the modern games industry, things are very different.

Canadian mobile developer Ludia, whose previous titles include Jurassic Park Builder, has released Jurassic World: The Game on iOS. It’s a card battler, with players hatching and developing dinos (of which there are over 50) for use in arena combat.

Licensed characters and locations are present, some of which themselves can be upgraded. A thriving park makes for more bloodthirsty ‘saurs, as we all of course know.

It’s also compatible with Hasbro’s Brawlasaurs toys which can be scanned by the app and then appear in-game.

The game is free-to-play although microtransactions are offered. It’s compatible with the iPhone 5S and upwards.

Ludia has a range of licensed titles in its catalogue with featured brands including The Flintstones, How to Train Your Dragon, Where’s Wally, The Price is Right and Who Wants to be a Millionaire.

The Jurassic World movie, starring Chris Pratt, is due out on June 9th. Consoles are getting a Jarassic World game, lest you forget, in the form of Warner’s LEGO: Jurassic World.

The platform launched after a Telegram MVP that reached more than 900,000 users and tracked nearly $15 million in gaming assets.
