Minecraft clone hits iPhone, is pulled

For a brief period yesterday iPhone and iPad owners were briefly able to download what to all intents and purposes was a functional portable version of smash indie PC hit Minecraft.

Called Minecrafted, Gizmodo reports that the title was built without code or content from the original” but boasted more than a passing resemblance to its familiar namesake, though carried no approval or credit from Minecraft creator Markus Persson.

It’s unsure why the game was pulled, though it’s not hard to guess.

Sales of the proper version of Minecraft passed 500k earlier this month.
