New iOS outing for Skylanders

Activision’s hugely successful new IP Skylanders is coming to iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

Called Skylanders Cloud Patrol, the game is set in a new region of Skylanders. It features all of the 30+ strong cast controlled via gesture control.

Codes found with the series’ action figures can be used to unlock content, although the new title will also integrate a form of in-game currency.

"Skylanders is already a huge success both on consoles and the web with Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure and Skylanders Spyro’s Universe and we are excited to bring the franchise to the mobile platform," VP of consumer marketing John Coyne stated.

"Now with Cloud Patrol, fans have a brand new way to interact with their favorite Skylanders’ characters on the go in a funnew form of gameplay."
