Newcastle studio DarlingDash releases Pitch â??Nâ?? Toss for iPad

Northern Film & Media app fund delivers first title

Northern Film & Media has announced the launch of the first app funded through its own iPad app development fund.

Pitch ‘N’ Toss, developed by Newcastle-based studio DarlingDash, also received development support through the fund, which has claimed to be bringing £300m into the North East through support from the ERDF.

“We’ve delivered a product with the iPad front of mind. The game maximizes the screen real estate and rich media environment. Pitch N Toss is Exclusive to iPad,” said DarlingDash producer Tim Allison.

“Pitch n Toss is a game I used to play as a kid! It’s very much an Old School concept with New Rules for the 21st Century. I hope people get as much fun out of playing it as we did developing it.”

Northern Film & Media CEO Tom Harvey enthused on the subject of the opportunities that the apps market presents

“The burgeoning apps market and products such as the iPad represent a fantastic opportunity for the North East’s talented digital media companies,” he said.

“We are keen to hear from developers in the region with commercial ideas for all platforms and look forward to Darling Dash tapping into the commercial potential of retro gaming on the iPad.”
