Software development kit includes integration with Unity 4.5

Oculus Mobile SDK out now

The Oculus Mobile SDK is now available on the Oculus Developer Center.

The initial version of SDK is designed for the Samsung Gear VR Innovator Edition for Note 4, which is available for pre-registration from today and costs between $199 and $249. The Innovator Edition is slated for delivery in early December in the US. The tech will be made available for additional regions at a later date.

Features supported by Oculus’ Mobile SDK include asynchronous timewarp, GPU context priorities, real-time CPU threading and clock frequency locking.

The SDK also includes the full source code for Oculus Cinema, Oculus 360 Photos and Oculus 360 Videos under an open licence. It will also include out-of-the-box integration for Unity 4.5.

We recently spoke to Oculus VP of mobile Max Cohen for more information on what the Mobile SDK offers. You can read our interview here.
