Playing Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes unlocks Phantom Pain content

Konami has revealed another reason to shell out on the limited-size Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes.

Gamers who play the taster title, out on March 21st, will be able to carry their save over to The Phantom Pain. Specifically, they will be given additional staff for what is being called Mother Base.

Any characters who are rescued in Ground Zeroes will live to aid the player in the full game.

It will all be accessed via a DLC code included in the Ground Zeroes box that, once redeemed, will automatically unlock content in The Phantom Pain.

In addition, all four versions of the game will enjoy second screen functionality via what is being called the iDROID app that will show a world map and summon air support. It will also display leaderboards and allow the playback for any cassettes found within the game.

It will also allow for direct control of Mother Base.
