Samsung Galaxy factory running at full capacity of 5m units per month to meet huge demand

Report: iPhone competitor amasses 9m pre-orders

Upcoming iPhone competitor the Samsung Galaxy S III has amassed more than nine million pre-orders, it has been claimed.

Sources speaking to Reuters said the company’s South Korea factory was running at full capacity of five million units per month to meet huge demand for the third generation smartphone in the Galaxy S series.

Samsung declined to comment on the reports.

The mobile giant recently overtook Apple as the world’s biggest smartphone maker thanks to its range of Android smartphones.

The Galaxy S is set to go on sale in Germany on May 29th.
