The Banner Saga marches onto iOS

Stoic’s visually striking The Banner Saga has made the move from PC to iOS.

The port of the successfully crowdfunded title is compatible with both iPhone and iPad and costs 6.99.

The game is sadly probably not best known for either its gameplay or unique presentation but instead for the legal dispute it sparked with Candy Crush Saga maker King.

King embarked on a trademark drive to protect words it felt had a strong association with its titles – such as ‘candy’ and ‘saga’. As a result it contested Stoic’s attempt to trademark ‘The Banner Saga’.

However, following calls from the developer for King to drop its claim the pair eventually settled their dispute, with Stoic stating:

Stoic is pleased to have come to an agreement with King regarding Stoic’s The Banner Saga trademark, which enables both parties to protect their respective trademarks now and in the future.”
