TinRaven: ’59p games can make you money’

Develop Conference 2009: Speaking in a panel at the Evolve event in Brighton, TinRaven’s co-founder Niall Fraser has defended the practice of releasing games for the lowest possible prices.

Fraser’s comments emerged as the panel discussed monetisation through iPhone games. 59p titles are often criticised for undermining the potential of the iPhone development market to maximise profits.

"People have said 59p games have devalued the market, and there is some merit to that argument," said Fraser, "but if you make the application right on the App Store and do appropriate updates you really can make money at that price."
