US study dissects iPad user habits and wealth

Apple’s iPad is dominating in the US, new data suggests, with a 97 per cent stronghold on internet traffic through tablet devices.

Research group Comscore claims that iPads are now accounting for a higher share of iOS internet traffic than iPhones.

The company also found that about 6.8 per cent of US data traffic comes from smartphones and tablets, with about half of the total US mobile population engaging with mobile media.

About 55 per cent of tablet owners are male, Comscore said. Nearly 30 per cent were aged 25-34, while 45.9 per cent were from households earning at least $100,000 per year.
