MOBA title launching in China as studio gets ready to launch new International Premier League

Vainglory dev Super Evil Megacorp raises $26m

Mobile game developer Super Evil Megacorp has raised $26m in its latest funding round.

The investment round was led by Index Ventures, and also included Korea Investment Partners, Yuri Milner and Breyer Capital’s Jim Breyer.

The funds will go toward further developing its mobile MOBA game Vainglory and positioning it into the eSports scene.

To that end, Super Evil has announced a new partnership with competitive gaming channel OGN for the Vainglory International Premier League, which will start on August 16th. The contest will feature elite teams from around the world competing for a $70,000 prize pool.

The studio has also partnered with Giant Interactive to release Vainglory in China on iOS and Android later this year.

Develop recently interviewed Super Evil Megacorp CEO Bo Daly about Vainglory, MOBAs and its eSports ambitions, which you can read here.
