WayForward working on first Apple Watch-exclusive game

US developer WayForward – best known for the Shantae series and remastering Capcom’s DuckTales – has announced what it claims to be the first game exclusive to the Apple Watch.

Watch Quest: Heroes of Time is a fantasy RPG sharing an art style with Shantae, in which players battle monsters, solve puzzles and search for treasure – all via the Apple Watch.

The game interacts with an companion app on the iPhone, which enables users to equip their hero, select quests and manage their kingdom, with the Watch part of the game representing the hero’s journey of several hours.

One free training quest will come with the game, with more available as purchasable quest packs containing new characters and campaigns, according to the developer’s site.

Watch Quest is planned for release on April 24th, reportedly alongside the Apple Watch.

The Apple Watch was unveiled back in September last year and confirmed for an April release last month.
