Monster Hunter becomes Capcoms fastest-seller

Monster Hunter Portable 3rd has become Capcom’s fastest-selling game of all time.

The PSP RPG has shipped 3m copies in Japan in 17 days, bringing worldwide sales of the series up to 16m. Sales of the PSP quadrupled following the game’s release.

Monster Hunter has also helped set a new PSP sales record in Japan as well as becoming the fastest-selling Capcom title.

In the UK the Monster Hunter series hasn’t seen the same success that it has achieved in Japan. Monster Hunter Tri on Wii spent one week in the UK Top 10 while PSP title Minster Hunter Freedom Unite made it to No.25.

Capcom has yet to announce whether Monster Hunter Portable 3rd will be released in the UK and Europe.
