Mortal Kombat Vita release set for May

Good news for PS Vita owners looking for some brutal action on the go, as Mortal Kombat is finally heading to the device next month.

Previously the updated fighting franchise prequel was to arrive as a Vita launch title, but ended up slipping back a few months.

The version will now be available in North America on May 1st Joystiq reports; with around 150 new Challenge Tower missions to partake in, as well as touchscreen fatalities and X-ray combos.

On top of that, characters from the console versions’ DLC offerings will be packed in with the base Vita version. Yes, that means Freddy Krueger too.

The game originally launched on PS3 and Xbox 360 back in April 2011.
