Moshi Monsters makes DS history

The DS may be in its twilight years, but success is still to be had for those who nail the correct strategy.

Mind Candy’s Moshi Monsters: Moshling Zoo has set a new record by topping the single format DS charts for an eye-watering 15 weeks in succession.

This betters the previous record set by Nintendo’s own Dr. Kawashima’s Brain Training.

It’s a rare bit of third party success on the format but proof that the handheld can still be a very profitable vehicle for the correct brands pitched at the right audience.

This is the first video game we’ve ever published at Mind Candy so we’re delighted and amazed by how well it has done,” Moshi Monsters creator and CEO Michael Acton Smith stated. We’re lucky to have such a passionate fanbase of Moshi players.”

The news follows the success of the Moshi Monsters album in the music charts.
