Mother released on Virtual Console in the West

The original game in the EarthBound series has been released digitally on the Wii U.

Nintendo announced during the weekend’s Nintendo World Championships that the official English translation of NES title Mother is now available in the West for the first time under the name EarthBound Beginnings.

The game was first released on NES in 1989 and then again on Game Bot Advance as part of 2003’s Mother 1+2 release.

Its sequel, known as EarthBound in the West, was released on the SNES in 1994 and then on Virtual Console in 2013.
