MS partnering with LG for 3D?

A press release from Korean tech giant LG appears to point to a new partnership with Microsoft to promote the still unknown 3D gaming plans of the Xbox 360.

Sony has already set out its intentions to lead in the emerging 3D games space, and Nintendo’s upcoming 3DS handheld will mark the Kyoto firm’s first venture into the new market.

But Microsoft? The platform holder has only ever gone as far to assure that the Xbox 360 is 3D compatible, but beyond that its intentions remains unclear.

Now Engadget has spotted promo material from LG that claims the pair have ‘entered into a memorandum of understanding’ that will see LG’s new 3D TVs marketed alongside 3D games for the Xbox 360 in South Korea and subsequently the Asia Pacific region.

The release also claims that 3D Xbox 360 games will be bundled with the LG 55/47LX9500 3D TV set at the end of June.
