Namco Bandai reveals new shooter

The lid has been lifted on a brand new IP from publisher Namco Bandai – third person action outing Inversion.

The game, which is in development at TimeShift creators Saber Interactive, looks to differentiate itself from the many other competitors in the genre by granting players the chance to toy with gravity, according to Joystiq.

Levels themselves will see gravity flipped around and players will be equipped with the ‘Grappler’ – a device that allows for the manipulation of gravity.

"Inversion will turn the shooter genre upside down – literally,” Namco Bandai’s US director of marketing and public relations Todd Thorson stated.

Saber Interactive’s innovative gravity manipulation feature will blow away any preconceptions of what a contemporary shooter should be.”

Inversion is due for release on Xbox 360 and PS3 some time in 2010.
