New peripheral range joins Sony’s new PS4s

It wasn’t just two new consoles that got announced last night – Sony has also lifted the lid on a range of new PS4 accessories to accompany them.

Most surprising is the redesign of the PlayStation Camera, which itself looks quite shocked by the news (see below). Its functionally identical to the existing model, but boasts a cylindrical as opposed to cuboid design. It’s RRP is 54.

Also 54 is the new DualShock, which is a known quantity thanks to the PS4 Slim leaks. It has a new light bar that shines out from the touchpad and has also had a USB upgrade.

Next up is the new Platinum Wireless Headset, packing 7.1 virtual surround and a noise-cancelling microphone. It’s also compatible with PlayStation VR, and will cost 129.

There’s a new PS4 stand, too, as the current vertical stand doesn’t support the new machines. Apparently it’s been designed to resemble the shadow cast from the machine. It has a 16 RRP and works with both of the new systems, but not the older ones.

The other three items, incidentally, do work with existing hardware.
