Nokia delays new N-Gage yet again

MCV sister site Mobile Entertainment

reports

that Nokia has once again delayed the launch of its revamped content-led N-Gage gaming service.

The platform was due to go live in late December, but the Finnish handset giant has now confirmed that software glitches will postpone its roll out.

N-Gage is part of Nokia’s gambit to become a mobile services vendor as well as a handset manufacturer. It provides games with a dedicated store from which to buy, browse, try, rate and chat about games. A link to N-Gage is pre-loaded on the N95 8GB, N82 and N81 handsets and will be embedded on every subsequent Nserie device.

The games service sits alongside other Nokia services under the Ovi umbrella. It has already launched its music store.
