Now PS3 to add Five streaming service

Sony is in talks with Channel Five to add the UK broadcasters on-demand content to PS3.

According to Media Week, the two are already in discussions to add Demand Five to the PS3 dashboard.

You can already view the site through the console’s web browser, but it seems the two are seeking a more serious link, much like the way BBC iPlayer is built into the hardware’s dashboard.

The firm recently added LoveFilm’s streaming service to the console, and is expected to add Channel 4’s 4oD on-demand service soon too.

Demand Five relaunched on November 1st and recently added to Virgin Media’s broadband service.

Apparently a respectable two to three percent use the PS3 web browser to access the site – should it become an official PS3 service that number should jump.
