Pan-European success for F1

Codemasters wasn’t the only one celebrating F1 2010’s chart triumph last week.

Koch Media, which distributed the game in key European territories, was also celebrating as the racing title recreated its UK chart success across the continent.

The game took pole position in the PS3, Xbox 360 and All Formats charts in Germany when it was released three weeks ago. The PS3 edition topped the charts in France, Switzerland, Italy and Austria.

Gamers and racing sports fans alike have eagerly anticipated the release of F1 2010,” said Koch Media CEO Klemens Kundratitz.

Codemasters boss Rod Cousens added: Our partner-based distribution strategy with Koch Media has delivered major results in driving the title to great heights in key European markets.”

F1 2010 debuted at No.1 in the UK Top 40, knocking Halo: Reach off the top spot.
