PC specialist eyes up DS market

Focus Multimedia are set to follow Atari with its own driving test DS title.

The budget software firm previously worked exclusively on PC, but has targeted other formats for its driving series.

We’re always looking at ways of bringing Driving Test Success onto popular formats, with DS being one possibility,” said Focus’ managing director Craig Johnson.

We’ve got options to consider on DS so it’s a case of us making the right decision for the brand and for us. The DTS brand is constantly evolving in line with people’s ever-changing learning habits and we’ll commit resources in order to maintain its market leading position.”

However, the firm isn’t turning its back on PC and feels the rise in downloading could help the PC market.

To discover the impact that digital downloads are having, you only need look at PopCap’s Bejeweled,” continued Hughes.

They’ve had over a billion downloads online. This incredible awareness has helped propel Bejeweled 2 into the ChartTrack Top 10.”
