Call of Duty legend Nadeshot founds new team

Call of Duty legend Matt Nadeshot” Haag has founded a new eSports team called 100 Thieves.

The team has acquired the King Papey Call of Duty squad and will compete in Stage 2 of the Call of Duty World League starting tomorrow.

The move has come as a surprise to many as Haag is a co-owner of OpTic Gaming, arguably the biggest Call of Duty organisation in the world. Despite leaving the active playing squad of OpTic last year Haag is still involved with the organisation, although this new venture may throw that relationship into jeopardy, especially as he did not tell anyone at OpTic about his new team before making the announcement.

The Daily Dot reports that a conflict over sponsors may have played a part in this move, as Haag is a Red Bull sponsored player, while OpTic recently entered into a lucrative sponsorship deal with Brisk Mate, a Pepsi owned brand.

With Haag at the helm 100 Thieves is sure to become one of the most popular Call of Duty teams in the CWL. In his recent return to Twitch, after his exclusive streaming deal with MLG ended, Haag was unable to keep up with all the monetary donations and subscribers he received.

At the time of writing the team’s Twitter account has over 61,000 followers after being online for just 17 hours.
