Civilization: Beyond Earth confirmed for Mac and Linux

Impending PC release Civilization: Beyond Earth is also heading to Mac and Linux, publisher 2K Games has announced.

Port-focused developer Aspyr posted the announcement on the studio’s official site, following a confirmation post on Twitter from 2K. The Mac and Linux editions won’t be out alongside the Windows PC version later this week, but will be out in time for the holiday season.

Aspyr is handling the Borderlands 2 Linux port as well for 2K – as it appears the studio has become the publisher’s go to for Mac and Linux port jobs.

Civilization: Beyond Earth launches for Windows PC October 24th on Steam – those who have pre-ordered the title (many, according to Steam’s weekly charts) can pre-load the game now.
