Darkspore due in March

Darkspore will arrive in stores before the end of this year’s first quarter, EA has revealed.

The PC action RPG game will be released on March 29th according to a new developer diary trailer.

Darkspore allows players to take control of powerful aliens and upgrade them with thousands of body parts, armour and weapons. It features a single-player campaign, four player co-op and multiplayer modes.

There are three character classes and five hero types. As players progress, new players and aliens emerge, forcing users to change their strategy.

The original Spore was released in September 2008 and sold almost 2m copies within its first three weeks on sale. It is a God simulation game that features a variety of different sequences and sub-genres, while Darkspore focuses more on action.
