Premium Witcher 2 SKU discourages piracy

The Premium Edition of The Witcher 2 supports the boxed PC market and deters piracy, says Namco Bandai.
The day-one premium edition – which is 34.99 – features a bundle of extras for the same price as the standard edition, in a bid to maximise retail sales and prevent illegal downloads.

This premium SKU for the Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings includes a DVD, CD soundtrack, world map, strategy guide, pamphlet, coin and two papercraft dolls. The game hits stores on Tuesday, May 17th.

The success of The Witcher 2 as a boxed product and a download is important to Namco Bandai, but we still believe strongly in supporting physical PC goods,” said Namco Bandai’s UK product manager Lauren Bradley.

We want to combat illegal downloads, but we also want to give consumers a valued alternative to buying the digital download version.”
