Rust developer unveils new survival game Before

Garry’s Mod and Rust developer Facepunch Studios has revealed its next effort, Before – a survival game set in the stone age.

The game hasn’t received a release date yet, but it’s in development for Windows, Mac and Linux. Going off the developer’s previous releases, it will almost assuredly launch on Steam and possibly other distributors such as Humble Store as well.

Before’s low-resolution art style contrasts with Facepunch’s previous release – the massively successful Early Access title Rust – which offers a more realistic take on the survival genre.

The game’s website adds that players will represent an entire tribe, in charge of finding shelter, hunting and foraging. Beliefs, rituals, hierarchies and other power structures will all be gradually introduced as well.
