Rocksteady and Sports Interactive games first and third in UK sales chart

UKIE chairman hails ‘world-class’ British devs

The success of Batman: Arkham City and Football Manager 2012 shows that the UK is still producing world-class industry talent, UKIE chairman Andy Payne has said.

“If anyone needed confirmation that UK talent can produce world class interactive entertainment, then look no further than the teams at Rocksteady and Sports Interactive,” said Payne.

“The UK has consistently delivered world beating games over the last 25 years.”

He added as well as delivering digital entertainment internationally and contributing to UK GDP, the industry can also provide high quality career opportunities for the next generation of developers.

Rocksteady’s critically acclaimed Arkham city, which boasts a 97 rating on Metacritic, and Sports Interactive’s Football Manager 2012 are currently first and third in the UK sales chart, according to Chart Track.

The Sega published football management sim is also fourth in the most played games list on Steam, peaking today at 56,901 users playing the game.
