Pirated PC games could be a thing of the past by 2018

The era of free PC gaming could be nearing an end.

TorrentFreak reports that the founder of a leading Chinese PC piracy forum has warned that anti-piracy tech is developing at such a pace that new titles may become unbreakable in as little as two years.

The most recent security success has proven to a system called Denuvo. Dragon Age: Inquisition used the tech and remained safe for a month – which is an age in piracy circles. FIFA 16 and Just Cause 3, meanwhile, remain secure until this day, four months and one month after their respective releases.

Recently, many people have asked about cracks for ‘Just Cause 3′, so here is a centralized answer to this question. The last stage is too difficult and Jun [cracking guy] nearly gave up, but last Wednesday I encouraged him to continue,” forum founder Bird Sister said.

I still believe that this game can be compromised. But according to current trends in the development of encryption technology, in two years time I’m afraid there will be no free games to play in the world.”

Apart from the many free and free-to-play games available across PC, mobile and consoles, of course.
