Platinum interested in 3DS Bayonetta and Okami spin-offs

With Bayonetta 2 currently in development for Wii U, developer Platinum Games has expressed interest creating in a 3DS instalment for the series.

Given the chance, I’d like to make a game based on Jeanne from Bayonetta,” Resident Evil 2 and Devil May Cry veteran Hideki Kamiya told Siliconera.

Something that’s not as big in scale. Something that’s portable, that you could play in quick sessions, where she’s a history teacher and the kind of fun things that could come out of a scenario like that.

If I could get away with it, I’d also like to come up with a spin-off of Okami, less focused on the grand idea of saving the world, but [rather] something focused on the smaller world of the fairy Issun.”

Platinum’s Bayonetta 2 is due out on Wii U next year. The Wonderful 101 – yet another Platinum Nintendo title – was released on Wii U last month. The Japanese studio has previously expressed its enthusiasm for its new partnership with Nintendo.
