PlayStation Plus fees upped in some territories

The cost of subscribing to PlayStation Network in five countries has been increased, Sony has confirmed.

"We slightly increased prices for PlayStation Plus in South Africa, Ukraine, Russia, Turkey and India regions due to various market conditions," the company told Joystiq. "Currently, price adjustments are not being planned for PS Plus in the SCEA [North American] region."

So far only the South African prices are known, and they’re up quite a bit. A three-month plan has jumped 51 per cent to R219 (12) while annual subscriptions are up 53 per cent at R749 (41).

Both price changes are effective immediately.
