PlayStation sponsors Five movies

Sony has announced a new movie sponsorship deal with Channel 5.

The partnership will see PS3-branded promos running around all peak and family movies on Channel 5, Fiver and Five USA. It has kicked off with movie-themed idents for the upcoming LittleBigPlanet 2.

The deal covers 760 films and will run until 31st December, 2011. Movies will include Hancock, Death Race, Don’t Mess with the Zohan, X-Men 2 and High School Musical 3.

The sponsorship of movies on Five is a great fit for our brands,” said Sony marketing director Alan Duncan. It provides us with a great platform to associate our blockbuster titles and the compelling entertainment offering of PlayStation 3 with the best of Hollywood.”

Channel 5’s head of acquisitions Katie Kennan added: We are delighted to be working with such a huge entertainment brand as PlayStation. We continue to bring viewers the best films around and have some fantastic titles coming up on Channel 5, Fiver and Fiva USA in 2011.”
