PlayStation Store to return this week

Sony has said that the PlayStation store will return in a number of key territories by the end of the week.

The territories in question are America, Europe and Asia, although not in Japan, Hong Kong and South Korea.

"We have been conducting additional testing and further security verification of our commerce functions in order to bring the PlayStation Network completely back online so that our fans can again enjoy the first class entertainment experience they have come to love," Sony’s executive deputy president Kaz Hirai stated.

"We appreciate the patience and support shown during this time."

Sony had previously stated that PSN would be back online by today.
