Pokemon Omega and Alpha ship 7.7m units worldwide

Pokmon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire have moved more than 7.7m units internationally, The Pokmon Company has revealed.

Siliconera reports on the company’s announcement, which arrives just one week after it had confirmed the game had combined for over 3m copies between Japan, US and other launch day territories on November 21st.

The games’ arrival in Europe last Friday – which coincided with Black Friday promotions stateside and around the globe – appear to have boosted numbers significantly, with the incomplete second week sales more than doubling launch week totals.

The Pokmon Company added that Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire’s launch sales were about 135 per cent of Pokmon X and Y. It’s also worth nothing that the original Game Boy Advance versions of Ruby and Sapphire combined to sell 16.22m units worldwide.
